I received a Larson International Fellowship through Carleton for the summer of 2022, which supported a self-designed experiential learning project encountering sacred space in western Europe. I mostly visited sites of apparitions of the Virgin Mary that subsequently become pilgrimage places, such as Lourdes (France), Fátima (Portugal), and Altötting (Germany).

As part of the fellowship, I curated a digital collection of images and writing about the places I visited and my travelling adventures covering nearly 4000 miles by myself. The website I made was an important synthesis of scholarship and personal experience that also allowed me to incorporate a lot of rich photography, which is not traditionally as accessible in scholarly work.

Through this project, I explored the intersection of religious studies and digital humanities in presenting my observations.
